Romanticize Your Self-Care

Practicing self-care is a method of love and worship. It may seem like a chore, especially after a long night out, but it’s always important to remember that the long-term benefits are worth it. It’s also a lot easier to look at this process as something to look forward to. With consistency, much like the gym, the results do a show in time and only get better.

Realistic Schedules

It’s essential when dedicating to self-care to create realistic routines. For example, I mentioned that removing makeup even after a night out is necessary. However, if you are at a sneaky link, or maybe you got home in the morning because your night out turned into a bender. Whatever the reason may be.

Don’t be too hard on yourself or have that be a reason for negative self-talk. Sometimes life happens, and we cannot always force things to play out in the ways that they do. On the note that you are too tired or just plain lazy, then aim for the bare minimum. Meaning if smearing a makeup wipe all over your face is what takes it off, then so be it. The goal is consistency, which doesn’t mean it always has to be done in the best way possible.

Make It Enjoyable

This is also an important step, don’t practice things that feel like a chore or don’t benefit your needs. Just because methods are trending doesn’t mean you can’t be “that girl” if you don’t participate in the trends. Focus on doing things that genuinely make you feel good and show a visible difference. It can be a minor task, from oil pulling or taking your time on applying your skin routine. Maybe it’s the opposite, and you enjoy something convenient for a skin routine.

Do what makes you feel best, and more importantly, do what makes you feel like you are taking care of yourself. People tend to forget that self-care is an act of appreciation, so sit with that thought. Recognize the privilege it requires to be able to do skin care. Knowing that you are non-disabled, have the senses to enjoy this process, and have the needed means to create this process.

Practice Your Mantras

As mentioned earlier, not only is this a great time to practice your gratitude, but it’s also a great time to play mantras. Taking care of yourself and playing positive affirmations brings out anyone’s inner goddess. It’s also a vulnerable moment where these statements can be easily felt and believed. Regardless if you are practising a release or manifestation, this is a powerful time to do so.

Conclusion

Overall, self-care is a moment of rejuvenation for your higher self. It’s a moment where you are reminded why you are that B. Even on the saddest or hardest days, practicing this routine and saying positive affirmations amidst the heavy emotions speak on your intentions. I believe that saying these affirmations during such trying moments is a statement of your will. The universe is always listening, even when it hurts.
